Hyundai Genesis Sedan Ad with Angry Bosses in Super Bowl 2009

Ad Agendy: Goodby, Silverstein & Partners

Thanks to this ad that I now know how to pronounce Hyundai. All this while, I was pronouncing it as Hyun-dai or Hun-die. This will surely stick to the mind of the viewers, it’s “Hyundai like Sunday”.

It’s interesting how brave Hyundai is to show BMW and Lexus logos at the background to signify that the angry bosses are from the rival companies. I wonder what the real bosses’ reactions are to this ad. They should make an ad of their own to defend their car companies since they aren’t airing any Ad in the 43rd Super Bowl.

But could the “Car of the Year” also become the “Super Bowl Ad of the Year”? We’ll see. I’ll give you an update of the score card.

I love this ad! Hats off to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. Whoever came up with this concept should get a raise. I didn’t watch the Superbowl, but when I see the ad at various times on TV, it never fails to bring a smile to my face and up until now, to wonder what ad agency developed it? Kudos!
