Love A Burger, Love A McDonalds Commercial

By Rom Factolerin at 20 November, 2008, 6:44 pm

This is one of those ads with a generic undertone with it during the 80s. In the same line as those other commercials in its time. The look and feel is so 80s but the overall concept was so terrible. I can’t seem to feel like eating a burger after watching this ad, the dancing [...]

‘Karen’ – A classic McDonald’s Commercial in the Philippines

By Christel at 2 September, 2008, 8:13 am

McDonalds indeed managed to touch the core of Filipinos through this commercial. In the Philippines, locals are known for the high value they place on family ties, and usually ads in this country show it. And although in this particular McDonald’s commercial, showing strong family ties did not typically involve the parent-offspring match up, it [...]

Agency: DDB

I love this commercial. The video and choice of song are perfect. The message is clear, that he’ll do anything: get the rose that fell in the sea, go with her when she goes shopping, and push her car, except for one thing–sharing his McDonald’s combo meal. He won’t do that. Anyways, the [...]

McDonalds ‘Recital’ Commercial – Circa 1986

By Reah Guevarra at 28 February, 2008, 5:59 am

I love this Ad from McDonalds featuring a little girl playing Fur Elise on her recital—I was still a baby though when this was released in US. The girl was scared to play the piano in front of everybody but her father bribed her that they would go to McDonalds after. So, the little girl [...]

American Idol’s Jasmine Trias in Love Ko ‘To Commercial

By Ronalyn Solatorio at 12 February, 2008, 2:42 am

This commercial surely brings Filipinos into last song syndrome mode. Once you see the Ad you’ll definitely find yourself singing paparapapa love ko to. (Love Ko ‘To is the Filipino translation of I’m Lovin It tagline of McDonalds.)
The Ad was created after Jasmine Trias became an American Idol final, making her so popular in the [...]

A Happy Meal promotion featuring kids playing with toy cars—based on Disney/Pixar’s movie “Cars”. Someone commented in Youtube that the kids seemed to be shouting “Happy S*X” in the beginning of the Ad, but actually it means Happy Set! So in Japan they call the Happy Meal as Happy Set, eh?
The Conductor
A cool Ad [...]

“Made To Order” McDonalds Ad

By Reah Guevarra at 10 February, 2008, 11:05 pm

This 2007 McDonalds commercial from New Zealand strongly conveyed that people’s tastes change as time goes by, or people has different tastes in general. And since they understood this fact, they are offering a “made to order” quarter pounder. When customers order this, they are free to tell what ingredients to include with their order.
I [...]
